Dr. Donald W. Edwards

Dr. Edwards grew up in Silverdale, WA and by the age of 13 knew that he wanted to become a veterinarian. Veterinary Medicine has been his life long pursuit. He graduated from Washington State University College Of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM degree in 1973. He founded the Green River Veterinary Hospital in 1975 and has been practicing here for over 39 years. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery and takes great pride in keeping on the cutting edge of technology, medicine and surgery. Dr. Edwards attends many hours of continuing education meetings and seminars and makes substantial investments in new equipment to keep up with the rapid advances in medicine and high tech equipment. Green River Veterinary Hospital was the first in the Kent and Auburn area to have Diagnostic Ultrasound, Digital Radiology, a full in hospital diagnostic laboratory, ECG capabilities, pulse oximetry, capnography, advanced anesthesia monitors, Laser Surgery and Laser Therapy. Dr. Edwards is one of the founding Board Members and the first Charter Member of the Auburn Valley Humane Society. He currently serves as president of the board of directors of Auburn Valley Humane Society.

While his professional interests keep him on the cutting edge of technology, his recreational activities take him in quite the opposite direction. He enjoys farming with horse drawn farm machinery and logging with a team of horses. He recently drove a wagon pulled by a team of horses across the state along the John Wayne Trail. Dr. Edwards lives in Enumclaw with his wife Annie, their 7 children and numerous pets which include dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, various pocket pets, horses, sheep, cattle, rabbits, fish and a 90 pound tortoise named "Gus." You may see him driving the team of horses and wagon in local parades in Auburn.
